Good Hope Retreat FAQ

Sean Clark, owner of Good Hope Retreat, explains that the the property, landscaping, view, and accommodations on his land have always been a special place of artists and those with an artist soul.

(His father, painter Terry Clark, who travels back and forth from Key West, originally acquired the land about a quarter a century ago for just such a purpose.)

For over two decades, Good Hope Retreat has been nurtured and tended in such a way as to foster the destination's qualities and natural Jamaican splendor so as to provide a tranquil, relaxed setting for guests to re-charge, and for creative energies to gather. Over the years, Good Hope Retreat has become a retreat for propagated mango, orange, and banana groves, as well.

The Retreat has extra-special significance for native Sean Clark: He was born here.

The cabin's design is such as to enhance the landscaping for the maximum enjoyment of nature at its finest. The cabin's have their own private bathrooms (often a luxury in this part of Jamaica), and in addition to the large bed upstairs, the downstairs couch folds out into a bed for guests or children.

We offer day-trips to the excellent beaches below Good Hope Retreat. Additionally, day-trips are available to Y.S. Falls, a magnificent 7-tier waterfall located close-by on privately-owned landscaped park, for leisurely picnicing and swimming.

For all who would like to boogie, transportation is easily arranged to the clubs in Negril 35 miles away, or to one of the many local clubs in the area. (We Jamaicans love our music and dancing—which is why most little "shops" have a "bar" area.)
